This article describes how to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) for your customers' backup environments from the Nexetic Portal.
Step 1. Login at portal.nexetic.com
Open your web browser and go to the Nexetic Portal at https://portal.nexetic.om
Type your Nexetic Portal admin-user credentials and click Sign in. Please note that you can't use Microsoft 365 credentials for this portal.
Step 2. Click 'Configure' on the selected customer account
Click Configure for the customer that you want to set up Single Sign-On (SSO) for.
If you can see Configure SSO User button, the customer account has already been configured. You can skip this step and go to Step 7.
Step 3. Sign in with Microsoft 365 credentials
You are directed to the Backup portal sign-in screen. Click Sign in with Microsoft 365 and insert the Global Admin account credentials for the M365 tenant.
Step 4. Select Microsoft 365 account
Select Microsoft 365 account that is Global Administrator for the Microsoft 365 tenant you want to configure backups for. If the correct M365 account is not on the account list, you can select Use another account. Submit your GA credentials and sign in.
Step 5. Grant permissions
The backup applications will need certain read and write permissions in order to be able to back up and restore data from/to Microsoft 365. Check the box Consent on behalf of your organization and click Accept.
Select your user account again and grant the rest of the permissions.
Step 6. Configure backups
When you have granted the permissions, you will land on the Backup portal's Settings page where you can configure services for backup, according to the instruction How to activate backups in Nexetic Backup Microsoft 365 (Step 3. forward).
Step 7. Configure SSO User
Return to Nexetic Portal. Click Configure SSO user on the customer account.
Step 8. Select the user who you wish to impersonate
You should see all the accounts that have full admin rights in the Nexetic solution (Global Admin, SharePoint Admin, Exchange Admin) on the drop-down menu and you can select yours - or the account you want to impersonate. Click Submit.
If you don't see any accounts on the list, it may be caused by insufficient permissions. Check the related instructions from our Support pages or contact support@nexetic.com.
The software validates that the SSO configuration has been successfully completed. Click on the surrounding area in the portal to close the window.
Refresh the page to update the SSO configuration. NOTE: sometimes, it may take a while to update the SSO configuration. Be patient and update the page after a while.
When the SSO configuration is updated, the customer account will show Impersonate button. Click on it to access the Backup portal of the selected customer, without having to fill in your credentials anymore. There you can see and change backup configuration, view the backup status and restore data.
