Backup Portal displays and manages two critical alert types: storage space limit reached and backup failure due to missing admin consent or app permissions. These alerts are visible across all portal pages and can be acknowledged and reviewed via the Alerts page.
The newer, non-critical alert types - such as Time Since Last Backup, Item-Level Failures, and Microsoft Service Issues - are not shown in the portal but will be sent via email once enabled. To learn how to configure these alerts, visit the Support Article 'How to configure Backup Alert Notifications'.
The Backup Portal currently highlights two critical alert types:
- Storage space limit reached
- Backup failure due to missing admin consent or application permissions
These active alerts are prominently displayed across all pages within the Backup Portal to ensure visibility and prompt action:
To view and acknowledge the active alerts, go to the Alerts page, accessible from the drop-down menu in the top-right corner.
All active alerts are shown on the page. You can filter the alerts based on type by selecting either Storage Space, or App Permissions by checking the corresponding boxes. Additionally, you can filter alerts by their creation date—choose from options like last week, last month, last year, or set a custom date range.
To acknowledge an active alert, click the corresponding Acknowledge button. Once acknowledged, the alert box will no longer appear at the top of the page.
To view previously acknowledged alerts, simply check the Acknowledged button and apply any additional filters (e.g., type, time range) as needed.
Note
The following new alert types are not currently recorded or displayed on this page:
- Time Since Last Backup Alert
- Item-Level Failure Alerts
- Microsoft Service Issue Alerts
These alerts are considered less critical, as they typically do not prevent the entire backup process from running. They will be delivered via email once their respective notification settings have been enabled.
