This article is for resellers purchasing services directly from Nexetic (not via a Cloud Marketplace).
Direct resellers can create new customers, assign licenses, and manage storage space for their customers in Nexetic Portal.
Create a new customer
To create a new customer, click Add -> Add customer on Customers tab.
- Enter the organization's name.
- Optional: In the Domain field, enter the customer’s Microsoft 365 domain to be backed up. You can register it later via the service activation email.
- Select the customer's licensing model from the Type menu. The user license-based SMB model is the most common. Each user license includes 50 GB of storage. The Enterprise model is capacity-based, requiring a minimum purchase of 1 TB, with invoicing done in full TB increments.
- In the Licenses field, enter the number of required user licenses for SMB. If you select Enterprise, you can leave the field empty.
- The meaning of Extra Space (GB) differs between the SMB and Enterprise models.
- SMB: Enter a value only if purchasing additional storage beyond the 50 GB per user included in user licenses. Extra space is invoiced in increments of 50 GB.
- Enterprise: Enter the total storage space in GB allocated for the customer. Note that invoicing is done in full TB increments.
- Service activation instructions, including a link to register the customer's domain, will be sent to the email address entered in Notify Users field. You can add multiple email addresses separated by a semicolon (;). (Instead of the Notify Users link, the service can also be activated via Configure in Nexetic Portal)
- Under Storage Type, select where the organization’s backup data will be stored. If your vendor has a default storage location, it appears here. Available options are Azure (Ireland), The Rock in Ulvila (Finland), and Google Cloud Storage in Hamina (Finland).
- If you accidentally selected the wrong Storage Type and want to change it, please contact Nexetic Support before configuring the backups.
- To enable Entra ID backup for the customer, set the Entra ID backup option to Yes. If the customer opts for Entra ID backup only, leave the User Licenses and Extra Storage fields empty.
- The VAT ID field is optional, but you can add the organization's identifier here.
- Click Save to finish creating the customer and send the service activation email. The new customer will appear in your Nexetic Portal view.
Example 1: Creating a customer with SMB license model
Adding a new customer with 28 user licenses (including total storage: 28 x 50 GB/user = 1400 GB) and no extra storage space.
Example 2: Creating a customer with Enterprise capacity model & Entra ID backup
Adding a customer with 8 TB of storage, and backup for Entra ID for the whole tenant.
Next you can proceed to configure SSO to the customer's backup environment, grant permissions for the backup applications and make backup settings for the customer.
Modify licenses or storage for an existing customer
To modify the number of licenses or storage space, click the icon under the Actions column, then the
icon.
You can adjust the number of User Licenses or Extra Storage for any of your customers, as well as enable backup for Entra ID. You can also add or edit VAT ID. If you wish to switch the license model from SMB to Enterprise, you can do so—keeping in mind that the minimum purchase for Enterprise is 1 TB.
In Edit Customer mode, you may see a checkbox Entra ID in Azure at the bottom of the window. If it’s checked, the customer’s Entra ID backups are stored in Azure. If it’s unchecked, they use the storage location shown in the Storage Type field.
