Setting up license information

Adding License Information for a New Account

To add license details for a new account:

  1. Go to the Accounts page.

  2. Select the account either from the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner, or by clicking the account name in the Account list.

  3. Navigate to the License tab.

1) Nexetic Backup for Laptop License Settings

In the License tab, you can configure:

Endpoints

  • Select the desired number of licenses. This corresponds to the number of individual devices (workstations or laptops) that will be backed up.

  • Each device requires its own license. For example, if one user has both a desktop and a laptop, two licenses are needed.

Disk Space

  • Choose the average amount of storage allocated per user: 25 GB, 50 GB, or Unlimited.

  • Disk space is shared across all users in the account (client company), and must be the same for all users under that account.

Total Space Endpoints

  • Calculated automatically as:
Endpoints × Disk space per user
This is the total disk space reserved for the account.

User Limit (optional)

  • Set the maximum storage allowed per individual user.

  • A value of 0 disables this limit, allowing users to exceed the average per-user allocation as long as the total allocated storage is not exceeded.

2) Other Fields (No Changes Needed)

These fields are system-managed and typically don’t require edits:

  • Created – The date the account was added.

  • Valid to – The current license expiration date. Licenses are valid for one year by default, and Nexetic automatically extends them when renewed.

  • Type – Indicates whether the license is Purchased or a Trial.

    • Vendors can issue 1-month trial licenses, which can be extended once (up to 2 months total).

    • To convert a trial into a purchased license, simply change the type from Trial to Purchased.

3) Save Your Changes

Once you’ve entered all license information, click Save to apply the settings.
